International Conference IDCEE 2011 “Investor Day Central and Eastern Europe 2011: Internet Technologies & Innovations” took place on October 25-26 in Kyiv. Miratech, a leading Ukrainian IT outsourcing provider, was a partner of the conference, and Miratech president Nikolay Royenko participated as a speaker.

The second international conference IDCEE 2011 gathered over 2000 participants from 34 countries of the world, about 200 individual investors and 20 leading global venture capital funds. Over 50 successful Ukrainian and foreign entrepreneurs delivered their reports at the conference and participated in panel discussions. The event enabled its participants to speak face-to-face to the global IT business experts. 12 out of 150 startups were selected to present their projects to the investors in pitching sessions. Based on the contest results, three IDCEE 2011 winners have received financial prizes and have now an opportunity to pitch their projects at the Seedcamp forum in London.  Viktoriya Tigipko, IDCEE co-organizer, co-founder and Managing Director at TA Venture, says that at the conference many startups have already found potential investors represented by business angels as well as by investment funds.

The IT Ukraine Association and its member companies represented the Ukrainian IT industry at the conference. As a co-founder of the association, Miratech presented its exhibition stand where it displayed the company’s achievements. At the conference Nikolay Royenko delivered a speech “Ukraine as a leading outsourcing destination in Europe” and participated in a panel discussion on the IT potential of Ukraine in comparison to the other IT outsourcing destinations. Nikolay Royenko supported his speech by the IDC reports which indicate that over the past four years the Ukrainian IT outsourcing market has grown almost six-fold, showing that IT services from Ukraine are in high demand.

The media has provided the detailed coverage of the event. In an interview to the Ukrainian Business Channel, Valeriy Kutsyy, Miratech CEO, has expressed his opinion regarding the key characteristics of the Ukrainian IT industry.

Commenting on the IDCEE 2011 results, Nikolay Royenko remarked: “Obviously, the fact that such conferences as IDCEE are held in Ukraine demonstrates that our country attracts key players dominating the global IT market. The conference IDCEE 2011 was exceptionally well-organized and relevant. Countries of the Central and Eastern Europe offer a diversity of interesting, innovative projects that can make a real profit”.
